2012 Speech Results
The UHS speech team placed third in the Section 6A Speech Tournament on Saturday, April 14th in Underwood. Of the 17 UHS speakers who participated on Saturday, 9 made final rounds and 5 placed in the top 3 and will continue on to speak at the State Speech contest this Friday, April 20th in Chanhassen. Speaking at state (pictured below) will be Aaron Thompson- 1st in Extempt Speaking, Ivy Callahan- 2nd in poetry, Dana Speer in Extempt Reading, Spencer Johnson-2nd in Inform and Megan Thormodson- 1st in discussion. Other finalists were Samantha Stender- 4th in poetry, Courtney Bolstad- 4th in Original Oratory, Carter Peterson- 5th in Extempt Speaking, and Dillon Rodriguez-4th in Discussion.
