BPA Member Advance to National Competition

22 students from Underwood participated in the annual Minnesota Business Professionals of America (BPA) State Leadership Conference in Minneapolis, MN, March 23-25, 2017.

After qualifying earlier this year, regional winners put their talents to the test during the State Leadership Conference. Students receiving state awards and advancing to nationals include:

  • Erin Andersen – Administrative Support Research Project – 3rd

  • Asante Creek – Prepared Speech – 3rd

  • Kindra Peterson – Extemporaneous Speech – 4th

  • Theo Johnson - Minnesota candidate for national officer

This May, Erin, Asante, Kindra, and Theo will travel to Orlando, FL to compete with 5,500 top students from across the United States at the 51st Annual National Leadership Conference – the pinnacle of BPA competition.

During the school year, approximately 1,800 Minnesota BPA student members take part in the organization’s competitive events program, allowing them to compete in nearly 60 events focused in the areas of finance, business administration, management information systems, digital communication & design, and management, marketing & communication.
