Coronavirus Update Information
Posted on 03/04/2020
At Underwood School, we recognize the coronavirus outbreak is on everyone's mind.  Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) are taking the lead on this in collaboration with the Center for Disease Control (CDC).  These agencies continuously monitor local and national health concerns and have access to more relevant and timely information than our individual school district.
Currently, the Underwood Public School is in a prevention stage of managing the coronavirus and have standards in place.  Our leadership team at the school continue to prepare should a district-wide response be needed.  Please be assured that we will follow any recommendation provided by MDH and MDE concerning the coronavirus.
It is important to mention that the most influential things you can do to protect yourself and your family from any contagious condition are the same preventive practices that we promote during our cold and flu season:   1) appropriate hand washing,  2) avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth,  3) cover coughs and sneezing,  4) stay home when sick, and  5) keep children home when they are sick.
Please note that the surface disinfectant cleaners this school uses are effective against the family of viruses that include the coronavirus.
As a school district, we will provide an update of information as needed.
