The Great Scholarship Program
Applications Due March 31, 2017
Great Clips, Inc. the worlds largest haircare brand, is sponsoring the Great Scholarship Program in memory of Alice Madden Barton. This scholarship is for high school students who are interested in pursuing a cosmetology career and current cosmetology school students. Applications are online at greatclips.com/scholarships. The Stalker Lake Sportsman Club
Due March 31, 2017
The Stalker Lake Sportsman Club is offering 2 scholarships in the amount of $500 each. Students who wish to apply should submit a copy of their transcript, school activities and accomplishments, employment history, reference of employment, and a short letter detailing further education and career goals, hobbies and general background information. The selected applicants will receive the award after successfully beginning the second quarter/semester of their chosen higher education field.
SFM Foundation Scholarship
Due March 31, 2017
The SFM Foundation Scholarship provides scholarships to students whose parents were killed or seriously injured in workplace accidents while working for Minnesota, Iowa, or Wisconsin employees. Applications can be found at www.sfmfoundation.com
Minnesota Women's Golf Association Foundation Scholarship
Applications Due March 31, 2107
This award is for $3000 per year and renewable for 4 consecutive years which totals
$12,000 and it is available for high school senior girls residing in Minnesota planning to enroll in a 4 year college program. The applicant must have a GPA of 3.2 or above and a copy of their submitted FAFSA form. The scholarship is awarded based on scholastic rating, financial need, school achievements, leadership, and activities. Although skill or exellence in the game of golf is not a criterion, candidates shall demonstrate an involvement in the sport. Applications can be found in the UHS library or Mrs. Breer's office.
David H Beighley Memorial Scholarship
Due April 1, 2017
The Beighley Family and Minnesota West Ottertail Darkhouse Angling Association have established a memorial scholarship in the amount of $1000 in the name of David H Beighley. The scholarship is open to all graduating seniors who are planning to attend any type of college. Preference will be given to students entering a field related to natural resources but will not be limited only to those students. Applications are in the library and Mrs. Breers office.
Friends of Lake Region Healthcare Career Scholarships
Due April 7, 2017
Any student who has at least a 2.5 GPA or above and is interested in a health related career may apply. Awards are determined on the basis of need and academic ability and will be given after a student has successfully completed one quarter or semester of the course at an accredited school. Applications are available at www.lrhc.org and in the school library.
Minnesota American Legion Foundation Scholarship
Due April 1, 2017
To qualify for this scholarship you must be a legal resident of Minnesota and a citizen of the United States. Applicant shall be a veteran, a child of a veteran or a grandchild of a veteran. Applicant must meet the academic standards of the school he or she wishes to attend, applicant must have a good record of school and community citizenship and mus have the desire to pursue an education beyond high school. Applications can be found in the library or in Mrs. Breer's office.
The American Legion Memorial Scholarship
Due April 1, 2017
Applicants for this scholarship must be a child, grandchild, adopted child, or stepchild of an American Legion or American Legion Auxiliary member. They also must be a high school graduate, be a student that shows qualities or initiative and desire, be a student that is loyal to his/her country and establish financial need. Applications can be found in the library or Mrs. Breer's office.

Fergus Area College Foundation offers a variety of scholarships to
both first and second-year students for classes taken on the M State
Fergus Falls campus. Most scholarship awards are determined by academic
and leadership performance. There are several scholarships based on
students’ special interests including home community, single mothers,
health care, accounting, and so on. Please make sure you provide details
when completing this form.
You may apply after the priority deadline of April 1; however,
scholarships will be awarded only as long as funding is available and
will be for the following semester after grades are posted.

Russell Jensen Scholarship
Due April 15, 2017
The Russell Jensen Scholarship is a $250 award. Eligibility for this scholarship is any high school senior who is going into an electrical related field which will allow them to remain and serve in the rural area. You must fill out application, write a short essay and include 2 letters of recommendation. Applications are in the library and Mrs. Breer's office.
Performing Arts Scholarship - Sunrise Rotary Club of Fergus Falls

This is a one time $750 scholarship to recognize the accomplishments of an area high school senior who has excelled in the arts. Requirements: Is a senior in high school, is a resident of the Fergus Falls or Underwood area, has displayed accomplishments in one or more areas of the performing arts such as band, orchestra, choir, drama, speech, or dance, plans to pursue a college education, has demonstrated a willingness to share artistic abilities and talents to better one's community and has demonstrated a positive attitude and is an example of good citizenship. Applications can be found in the school library or Mrs. Breer's office.
Aspiring Nurse Scholarship
Due June 30, 2017
This is a one time $1000 scholarship for an aspiring nurse who best demonstrates a track record of academic excellence, particularly in science and math and a passion for the nursing profession and the overall field of healthcare. This scholarship is open to all high school seniors who plan to pursue college education in nursing, including LPN/LVN, ADN and BSN programs.
