AAUW Fergus Falls Scholarship
Application due March 16, 2018
The Fergus Falls branch of American Association of University Women is pleased to announce that it is once again offering scholarships.  There is no age limit for applicants, and women who are graduating from high school, attending or returning to college, in transition, or making career changes are all encouraged to apply.  Women of all race, ethnicity, and cultural backgrounds are urged to submit an application.  There are 2 $1500 scholarships and one $1500 Georgia Dieseth scholarship for a woman who has demonstrated an interest in the Arts.    Applications can be found in the Underwood school library.

Mike Rohde Spirit Scholarship Award
Application due by March 23, 2018
Up to 3 recipients will receive at scholarship of $1500.  To be eligible a candidate must be a resident of Otter Tail County, be pursuing an education at a college/university; trade/vocational; or the arts, be accepted for enrollment and show evidence for potential to successfully complete his/her selected program of study.  Applications can be found in the school library or Mrs. Breer's office. 

iHelp Scholarship
Application due by March 31, 2018
Reunion Student Loan Finance Corporation is pleased to announce the availability of 3 scholarships for Minnesota HS seniors.  These $1000 scholarships will be awarded to Minnesota High School Seniors attending a college, university or technical institute for 2018/19 academic year.  Every application will be automatically entered into a drawing for a free ipad.  This scholarship is good at any school in the US. MWGA Foundation Scholarship
Application due March 31, 2018
The Minnesota Women's Golf Association Foundation scholarship is renewable for 4 consecutive years and it is made available to high school senior girls who plan to enroll in a four year college program.  The applicant must have a GPA of 3.2 or above and be a US citizen and domiciled in the state of Minnesota.  A copy of a submitted FAFSA must also be included with application.  The MWGA Foundation scholarship is based on scholastic rating, financial need, quality of character and a involvement in the sport of golf.  Applications can be found in the school library or Mrs. Breer's office.

SFM Foundation Scholarship
Application due by March 31, 2018
The SFM Foundation provides scholarships to students whose parents were killed or seriously injured in workplace accidents while working for Minnesota, Iowa, or Wisconsin Employers.  The Application form can be found at 

David H Beighley Memorial Scholarship
Application Due by April 1, 2018
The Beighley Family and Minnesota West Ottertail Darkhouse and Angling Association have established a memorial scholarship in the amount of $1000 in the name of David H Beighley.  The scholarship is open to all graduating seniors who are planning to attend any type of college 2 or 4 year.  Preference will be given to students entering a field related to natural resources but will not be limited to those students. More information can be found in the school library. 

CHS New Horizons Scholarship
Application due by April 6, 2018
CHS New Horizons is awarding six $500 high school scholarships to eligible students planning to obtain a degree  in an agricultural field at a 2 or 4 year college.  In order to actually be paid out the scholarship at the end of the first college semester, students must maintain a minimum of 2.0 GPA from college courses.  Applications are in the school library. 

Performing Arts Scholarship
Application due by April 6, 2018
The Sunrise Rotary Club of Fergus Falls is awarding a $750 scholarship to a Senior.  The requirements for application are that the student is a senior at Fergus Falls High School, Hillcrest Lutheran Academy, Underwood HS, or a home school student in Fergus Falls or Underwood district.  The student has displayed accomplishments in one or more areas of the performing arts: band, orchestra, choir, drama, speech or dance.  Student plans to pursue a college education, has demonstrated willingness to share artistic abilities and talents to better one's community, and has demonstrated a positive attitude and is an example of good citizenship.  Applications are in the Underwood school library. 

Lake Region HealthCare Career Scholarship
Application due by April 13, 2018
This one time $1000 scholarship is to be give to students who are pursuing a healthcare related career.  A GPA of 2.5 or above is required.  The scholarship committee will award scholarships of $1000 based on need and academic ability.  Scholarship recipients will be given their money once he/she has successfully completed one quarter or one semester of the course where at least 12 credits were taken at an accredited school.  Applications are in the library or Mrs. Breer's office.

Russell Jensen Scholarship
Application due by April 15, 2018
This is a $250 scholarship open to seniors who are going into the Electrical field which will allow them to remain and serve in the rural area.  Application materials are in the school library and Mrs. Breer's office.

Minnesota Athletes in Sports Medicine Scholarship
Application due by May 1, 2018
Sports and Orthopaedic Specialists and Allina Health are proud to present the 11th annual Minnesota Athletes in Sports Medicine Scholarship.  Two $2500 scholarships are available and will be awarded to one male and one female graduating high school student athlete who intend to pursue a professional career in sports medicine.  Qualified candidates should demonstrate leadership, be actively involved in their community and interscholastic sports and achieve academic success.  Applications can be found in the library or Mrs. Breer's office.

The PioneerCare Auxiliary is pleased to sponsor an educational scholarship for community members and employees of PioneerCare who plan to advance in health care career and are enrolled in a related degree or certificate program such as: Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse.  Applications can be found in the school library or online at

Tip #1:  Have you talked to your church, insurance agent, bank,or your parents' place of employment yet?  Those are all excellentresources for scholarships. 

Tip #2:  You never know what you are capable of unless you try -don’t be the student that later regrets not going for it and giving ittheir all.

Tip #3:  If you are going to apply, do a good job.  Theperson/people reviewing it won’t spend time trying to understand yourhandwriting and will know if you took your time on it.
