More Girls Basketball information: School will be in session for PreK - 6th grades only, and Grades 7-12 will not have school March 14 and 15. If your elementary child will not be at school, please inform the office today if possible. FAN BUS INFORMATION: A Fan Bus signup is now available in the school office. We are taking an Ottertail Coach Bus, the cost is $35/day. Individual payments are required for each day of the bus. Sign up deadline is Wednesday at noon. Please pay when you sign up. Students grade 6 and under must be with a parent to ride the bus. Go Rockets!

The Underwood Rockets Girls received the #4 seed and will take on the #5 seed Southwest Christian at 1pm on Thursday, March 14th at Maturi Pavillion, at the U of M, in Minneapolis. Section Championship shirts are available to order. The order closes at 11:59pm on Sunday, March 10th, in order for them to arrive prior to the games. Our statebound Underwood girl's basketball team will play Southwest Mn Christian on Thursday @ 1:00pm. More details will be available on Monday. Stay tuned!

Underwood Girls Basketball vs. Hancock tonight in Fergus Falls at 7pm for the Section 6A championship title. The game will be broadcast on Lakes Radio Z103 and can be found on YouTube.

Parent Teacher Conferences are Monday, March 11th from 3:30 to 8pm. Elementary parents please sign up for times to meet with your students teachers. A link is on the school website under the Parents tab.

Preschool Registration! Wednesday, March 6th 5:00-6:30 Come and enjoy a free hotdog meal in the commons. Complete a scavenger hunt to see what our building and programs offer these young minds! Registration forms can be found on the school website under. "New Families".

The Underwood preschoolers have been leaning the process of mailing letters by making valentines and sending them to classmates through the dramatic play "Post Office" in their classroom. Then they were given the opportunity to visit the Underwood post office and mail a real Valentine to a special family member. What a great learning experience!

There will be no school in Underwood on Monday, February 19th, due to the President's Day Holiday. The Fitness Center will also be closed all day.

Underwood senior, Kaily Burgau, is competing today and tomorrow at the MSHSL State Congressional Debate Tournament at the Carlson School of Business at the University of MN. Good luck Kaily, and congratulations on a great debate year!

The open hours for the Fitness Center during the Holiday break are: Wednesday, December 27th, Thursday, December 28th and Friday, December 29th, from 7am to 3pm each day. No early morning or evening hours. Regular hours will begin again when school resumes on January 2nd. Please help spread the word!

3rds graders visited with OTC Sheriff Barry Fitzgibbons and Senator Jordan Rasmussen as they continue to learn about our state and local government! Thank you both for spending your morning with us!

Big shout out to the Underwood Fire Department for giving our Preschoolers a tour of the firehall and equipment along with lots of fire saftey tips!

The Congressional Debate team competed in Eagan this weekend. McKenna Geones took part in the MDTA JV Congress State Tournament while Mason Hoyt and Kaily Burgau competed in the MSHSL Section Tournament. They represented Underwood wonderfully! Congratulations to Kaily who is the Section 5A Champion! She has now qualified for the MSHSL State Congress Tournament to be held at the University of MN in January!

Our preschoolers enjoyed fall to the fullest with a leaf hunt, trip to country blossom farms, pizza party, science experiment and a costume party!

Thank you to our fantastic volunteers and to Thrivent Financial for making it possible for the 3rd graders to sew fleece hats again this year! The students each have a great new hat to wear and were able to donate 40 hats to local charities.

What a beautiful day to visit Otter Berry Farm. The kindergarten classes got to explore the farm, have some adventure time in the corn maze, feed and pet the animals, play and go on a wagon ride. What an adventure we had....we cannot wait to decorate our pumpkins.

The kindergarten classes visited with our local firefighters last Friday to learn about fire safety. We got to take a look at all their fire trucks, equipment and tools they use. We even got a special ride back to school in the fire trucks with lights and sirens. Thank you Underwood Firefighters for all you do for us!

Mr. John Hamann has been recommended to the school board as our interim principal for the remainder of this school year. John previously served Underwood as our K-12 principal for 23 years. Mr. Hamann brings his leadership and experience back into our district and we look forward to having him for the next 8 months. Underwood School District will post for our next principal in the spring.
